Bloomsburg Falls On the Road to West Chester

WEST CHESTER --The Bloomsburg University women's basketball team lost to West Chester on Wednesday night by a score of 87-74.
West Chester (15-11, 9-2 PSAC East) jumped out to an 11-point lead in the first half only to see Bloomsburg (6-20, 2-9 PSAC East) rally. With the Golden Rams leading 23-12 with just under 10 minutes left in the half, the Huskies went on an 11-2 run to get back within two points at 25-23. Kelly Joyce (Ashland/Cardinal Brennan) sparked the comeback connecting on three, three-pointers in a two-minute span. West Chester, though, came back and led by eight at halftime.
In the second half, Bloomsburg again cut the deficit back to two, 50-48, when Kirby Johnson (Woodstown, NJ/Woodstown) nailed a three-pointer with 16 minutes to go in the game. West Chester, though, would extend its lead to nine points before the Huskies put together yet another rally. Another Johnson three-pointer, this one with 5:04 to play, brought the Huskies to within, 71-68. But that would be as close as the Huskies would come as the Golden Rams went on a 16-5 run to end the game and win by 13.
Bloomsburg was led by Colleen Kegerreis (Schuylkill Haven/Schuylkill Haven) with 21 points, while Johnson and Joyce each added 16. Gabe Miskinis (Lewistown/Lewistown) also reached double figures with 13 points.
Katie Kline led West Chester with 24 points, while Domenique Lewis added 19.
The Huskies will end their season on Saturday when they host Mansfield University at 1 p.m.
